Top 5 Enhancements Since PeopleSoft 9.2 (Financials)
Between November of 2009 and February of 2013 there were exactly zero enhancements released for PeopleSoft ERP customers.
With the release of PeopleSoft 9.2 in March 2013, PeopleSoft replaced its upgrade process with an update process. In Release 9.2 there are no more upgrades, but there are new features. Our Financials functional consultants recently selected these enhancements as the Top 5 since 9.2 was released.
Top 5 AR-BI Enhancements
Customer Hierarchy - Allows user to view customer related receivables information according to parent/child hierarchy with ability to drill down to child level customer receivables information.
WorkCenters - WorkCenter pages can be tailored so that users can view key data according to their related job functions and preferences.
Dashboards - Dashboards can be a separate menu item allowing users to view key data according to their related preferences.
Credit Card - The Credit Card interface enables users to offload the hosting of customer payment information onto a third-party payment processing system through a secure connection.
Fluid Tile/Mobile Application – Allows user to log into the PeopleSoft system from a mobile device, such as a tablet or smart phone to process and approve transactions.
Top 5 GL Enhancements
Fluid Homepages/tiles/nav collections/NavBar - Fluid Homepages are easy to define and use.
Account Reconciliation Management - Provides the ability to manage reconciliations, store backup and approval ID / date/time. Also provides significant efficiencies, and documentation. You now have a home for all reconciliations instead of using binders or SharePoint.
GL WorkCenter- WorkCenters are easy to define and use.
Multi Chartfield nVision Drill - Provides better ability to drill to underlying detail for multiple Chartfields from nVision reports.
Business Request and Approval (Chartfield Request and Approval) - Automates the approval process, ease of managing the process and stores backup and approval ID & date/time. All provides much needed structured audit requirements.
Top 5 AM Enhancements
Asset Audit Logging - Delivers the ability to select asset transactions and processes for auditing. Then users can easily review audit logs to see all transactions performed against an asset. This is especially helpful when there are problems with an asset.
Transaction Reversal Feature - Simplifies the error correction of asset transactions. Automatically reverses the last transaction on an asset and provides a clear audit trail.
Approval Framework for Disposal Worksheet - Leverages the Approval Framework to easily allow managers approve mass disposals originating from the Asset Disposal Worksheet.
Data Import via Excel Template - Provides a quick and easily configurable Excel template users can use to upload mass additions and retirements. This is a simple alternative for the more complex Excel Component Interfaces.
Asset Management WorkCenter - Offers the ability for any company to quickly and easily configure a central page where all Asset Management functionality can be easily accessed.
Top 5 Procurement Enhancements
Fluid Pages and Navigation - Allows more intuitive navigation, especially for the occasional user.
Mobile Approvals - Now provides greater usability including line level approvals and access to line details and attachments. This makes it easier for the mobile approved to make an informed decision.
Accounting Tags - Allows the requester or buyer to enter repetitive distributions accurately with a single click.
Global Search/Elasticsearch - Users can quickly search for detailed information without the use of special use queries. For example, they can quickly search all requisitions from a given department using this feature.
Group Contracts - Allows procurement contracts across multiple suppliers, making large projects (like buildings) easier to track and manage.
Top 5 AP Enhancements
Home Pages/Navigation Collections and Tiles – Homepages are configurable and provide ease of navigation. Customized navigation can be driven by role or business process.
AP WorkCenters - Centralized, one stop shopping for AP users. WorkCenterscan be configured, to meet individual organization’s needs. They are also configurableby individual user (personalization).
Supplier Audit - User defined audit tracking of supplier data field changes provides security, accountability and an audit history.
Accounting Tags - When used with Supplier Defaults, this feature improves efficiency and accuracy of voucher accounting distribution values.
Amortization of Expenses - Provides functionality to amortize prepaid expenses efficiently.
Top CM Enhancements
Bank Recon Expansion - A much needed improvement that now allows one-to-many reconciliation which nearly everyone has had to deal with either manually or with complex customizations. Reconciliation based on addenda information from the bank, which allows a much greater rate of transactions that can be automatically reconciled. Also, easier configuration of Reconciliation Rules making the process more user-friendly.
Cash Forecast Enhancements - A night & day difference from the previous, Cash Position tool, the Cash Forecast is much more robust and dynamic and easier to configure and use: No Trees are required for configuration of the Cash Forecast. This is unlike the previous Cash Position, making setup and updating much simpler. Worksheets can now be easily and instantly sorted by Bank Account, Bank, and BU as well as any custom sort a user might desire. These enhancements make reporting more relevant for various groups. Drill Down Details are now easier to configure and view. With visual analysis provided right on the results page with trend analysis and pie chart, the cash forecast enhancements are significant.
Treasury WorkCenter - Centralizes and simplifies navigation for users who need to access processes and reports in multiple modules including Cash Management, Banking, and Financial Gateway.
